FDA-Approved food facilities

Whether it’s a sandwich in a vending machine, a salad in a micro-market, or fruit for a corporate pantry, it all begins the same way – fresh ingredients at a commercial kitchen. All the fresh food we sell in vending machines or micro-markets is sourced from facilities approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. This ensures the facilities are using quality ingredients and following safe food handling practices. We also try to use local facilities, whenever possible, and get seasonal products.

Vista Vending Seattle vending micro-market deliver

Refrigeration in transit

Because fresh food needs to be kept cold, we keep close watch on how it’s transported from the facility, to our warehouse, to your location. Coolers and refrigeration units in trucks ensure the fresh food never gets too warm while on the road. In our warehouse, before the food goes to your Seattle, Tacoma, or Puget Sound vending machine or micro-market, it sits in commercial food coolers to stay fresh. We take food safety seriously.

Expiration dates verified

If you catch your Seattle, Tacoma, or Puget Sound Vista Vending driver closely examining the food for sale in your break room, he or she is doing a very important job. With each service of a Seattle, Tacoma, or Puget Sound vending machine or micro-market, the expiration date on each and every food item must be verified. Drivers will physically remove an item that has reached its shelf life. Many times the food still looks (and honestly tastes) fine, but we never want any expired food available for sale.

Donated in the community

You may be wondering what happens to that food that has expired. Does it go into the trash, filling up the landfill? Not at Vista Vending. We have a unique opportunity. We work with the Magic Works Trust, donating the food that is still good, but at its expiration date. They take it and provide it free to the homeless in the greater Seattle area. It’s food living its best life.

In the end, feel free to enjoy food from the vending machine and micro-market. It’s been carefully made and transported. However, if you don’t, that food will serve good in our community. Something we are very proud to do. If you need a food vending machine or micro-market solution at your Seattle, Tacoma, or Puget Sound business, contact Vista Vending at (253) 592-2843.
